Wait, there is such a thing as NEW Nissans? Huh.
![]() 04/03/2019 at 14:44 |

Wat? Is the OE tire a Star Spec or RE71R or something?

“If you’re wondering what kind of tires could be responsible for such eye-popping test results, you’d be surprised to know that the Altima was wearing 19-inch all-season Hankook Kinergy GTs. And this was no base-spec 3-series, but an M Sport model equipped with summer rubber. But the Bridgestone Turanza T005 Run-Flat tires on our test vehicle are on the lower end of the summer-tire spectrum in comparison to, for instance, the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires on earlier 3-series cars that impressed us. Those are available as a stand-alone option or as part of the optional Track Handling package on the rear-drive 330i.”

LOL - just went to the article as well. All the autox’ers are gonna be swapping on Hankook Kinergy GTs now.
![]() 04/03/2019 at 14:47 |

no, all season hankooks, but the BMW is on some shitty summer only rubber, which is the testing was done in fall/spring I can easily see the nissan beating the BMW

How come you’ve not heard of the new Nissan Versa?
E90M3 posts about it on a weekly basis

Wut. How funny would it be seeing a bunch of Altima’s autocross

My local Nissan dealership doesn’t even list the Z or GTR as being a part of their range. How sad is that

We’re missing the real comparison test here, and that is “which of these two vehicles was the most leased in 2018?”
Srsly, these both have to be in the top 10. And for very different reasons.
![]() 04/03/2019 at 14:55 |

Nah, that thing is lease return at best. Look at the scratches

Hopefully heads roll at BMW for this, but at this point, I’m not sure anyone’s left who cares... They seem content to pump out luxobarges and crossovers, and clearly their buyers don’t care either.

The new Altima also comes turbo and AWD, I’ve done a few PDIs and they are surprisingly nice

WHAT, there’s something called a Nissan Kicks? *Goes to Google*
Wow...I’m usually on top when it comes to everything an automaker offers in the US, but somehow that one squeaked right by.

Seems to be tires mostly.

Nah, it’s a one dimensional test. The 3 series will drive and feel better overall any day.

Turbo OR AWD. You’d think someone who wants to pay up for the uplevel engine would also be interested in AWD right?
![]() 04/03/2019 at 15:03 |

Not as much as BMW vs Nissan, right?

Never forget when a Lincoln MKZ with good tires beat the BMW M5 on a slalom course.

As if either of them will ever pull any serious g in the hands of their typical owners.

You just wait till I show up at the local Autocross in my rental 2019 Altima. Just wa it...

First thing I did was check date of the article to make sure it wasn’t an April Fool’s joke. Poor Nissan, what’s happened to their reputation?!
![]() 04/03/2019 at 15:32 |
|
Yeah, if it’d also beat it in the slalom, they would’ve mentioned it. Still impressive, though.
![]() 04/03/2019 at 15:32 |

This is why they have been at the top of the list for a future Lemons racer!
![]() 04/03/2019 at 15:33 |

As far as total number of leased vehicles, I doubt it. Remember, nobody wants cars any more, they want trucks and SUV / CUVs.
Pickups from the 4 domestic brands will be on the list. Along with the two smallest CUVs from each domestic manufacturer. Then maybe the RAV4 and CRV to round out the top 10.

I've noticed that too. I'm not a fan of their new Business Inside bullet points and click baity titles. They used to be my favorite are, now I don't like going there much after the last redesign

If you go to their website it doesn’t say the ultimate driving machine anywhere (that I could find). It says something forgettable about luxury experience (or driving. See, I already forgot).
Except for a few vehicles they don’t give a rats ass about handling.

I think BMW has no more shame after this : https://priuschat.com/threads/prius-four-amci-testing-results.169090/
In which the Gen 4 Prius beat the 528i in the slalom .

Crazy, assuming it’s true - AMCI (?) test publicized by the Prius marketing team, taking with a grain of salt.
